Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists in our hospital work with individuals who have conditions that are mentally, physically, developmentally or emotionally disabling. The Occupational Therapy Department provides rehabilitative services for Psychiatric patients within inpatient wards as well as in outpatient settings. Holistic treatment is provided to those in need of assistance due to psychological or emotional difficulties, or developmental delay or learning disabilities. The department has a Day Care Center for Psychiatry patients where the therapists conduct Client Evaluation, Therapeutic Activities, Recreational Activities, Craft Classes, Physical Exercises and Group Sessions.
Individualized assessments are done among the patients to determine work-skills and attitudes. A training program is then tailored according to the patient’s strengths and weaknesses to determine jobs that would be well suited for the individual. The goal is to equip them to find their way into the mainstream and enable them to lead an independent life.
